Dana Mack is a professional project manager and engineering executive who currently leads multiple Colorado Front Range offices for a mid-size engineering firm. Dana was Jamie Beck’s closest friend from the time of their meeting in Boulder, CO in 1995 until Jamie’s passing in 2015. A Colorado native and graduate of the University of Colorado, Dana lives in Broomfield, CO with her husband Stephen and her son Rowan.
Joslyn Hopmayer has been a Professional Engineer for the past seven years and currently owns Gunnar Consulting, LLC. Joslyn was born in Iowa, and relocated with her family in high school to Louisville, CO. She graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She has been close friends with the Beck Family for the last three years. She lives with her husband Jayson and son Broderick in Lone Tree, CO.
Danielle Sender started her career as a clinician and art therapist, supporting individuals and their families as they work through difficult situations, including trauma and loss. She transitioned to corporate human resources and talent acquisition in 2012 and has most recently spent the last five years working in the executive search industry, helping organizations build talented leadership teams. She has an undergraduate and master’s degree, both from New York University and currently lives in Denver, CO with her long-term partner William and their two dogs.
Shannon Brooks is VP of Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility at Lightshade. A Florida native, Shannon moved to Colorado in 1997 and began dating Steve Brooks soon thereafter. Shannon and Jamie grew close together during their concurrent pregnancies, giving birth just two months apart in 2007. Their families have always been, and still are, very close. Shannon graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Materials Science and Engineering. She lives with her husband Steve, daughter Peyton, and son Carson in Centennial, CO.
Steve Brooks is founder and owner of Lightshade, which company currently retains 175 employees. Growing up in Florida together, Steve and Jamie were siblings who fell in love with Colorado when they moved here in 1995. Steve and Jamie spent the next twenty years together in Colorado until Jamie’s passing in 2015. Steve graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology and currently lives in Centennial, CO with his wife Shannon, daughter Peyton, and son Carson.
John Hansen is a subject matter expert for Transportation with an engineering firm. He has served the transportation industry for all 40 year since his graduation from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is married to his wife Diane, and they just celebrated 50 years. John has 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. John fully recovered from a brain aneurysm in August of 2000.
Marc Gellmann has been involved in the commercial furniture industry since 2005 and is the Director of Furniture Sales at Workplace Resource Colorado. A transplant from Connecticut, Marc moved to Colorado in 1995 after graduating from Indiana University with a degree from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He has been connected with Jamie Beck’s family for over twenty years and looks forward to supporting families in need in Jamie’s name. He is married to Dena and they have two energetic boys, Josh and Lucas.
Jill was born and raised in Connecticut, moved to Colorado to attend the Bel Rea Institute for Veterinary Technology. That is where she met Jamie Beck in 2002. Jill lives in Leadville with her husband, Jason, and two dogs, Stella Blue and Jezzy. She owns Grateful Paws, a mountain pet boutique and doggy day care.
Dr. Joshua Seinfeld comes from Philadelphia, PA. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his Neurosurgery Residency at the University of Colorado. Following neurosurgical training, Dr. Seinfeld did an interventional neuroradiology endovascular neurosurgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School before returning to join the faculty at the University of Colorado. Currently, Dr. Seinfeld is the director of endovascular neurosurgery at the University of Colorado and specializes in the treatment of a wide range of neurovascular conditions including brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, intra- and extra- cranial therosclerotic disease and cavernous hemangiomas. Dr. Seinfeld is published in numerous medical journals and serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and as a Physician Liaison for The Jamie Beck Family Foundation.
Devin Beck is the General Manager of a retail chain currently overseeing operations at six locations, as well as the Co-Founder of Jawbox Jerky, a company he started with Jay Lane. Devin started dating Jamie in 2000 and they married in 2005. Devin and Jamie were married for ten years before her passing and have two beautiful children together, Chloe and Wyatt. Devin volunteers with the organization by serving as an ambassador to educate others about our mission and by serving as a liaison with UC Health to provide financial assistance to families impacted by brain aneurysms.
